Visiting Professor 2024


NCHRF is pleased to announce the Visiting Professor for 2024 will be Professor Rafael Perera-Salazar - Director of Medical Statistics in Primary Care, University of Oxford.


Professor Perera-Salazar will arrive in Adelaide in August to commence a full program of events and presentations for students, practitioners and researchers. Highlights of this program include:



Thursday 22 August  Panel Discussion: AI and its Potential Role in Healthcare

AI as a tool to enhance or support decision-making is everywhere and promises to be the next revolution in healthcare. However it is a loose term that prompts strong emotional reactions. This panel, including Professor Rafael Perera-Salazar, Professor Johan Verjans, Dr Melissa McCradden and Mark Wheeler, will cover the basic premise of AI, some of the basic tools that have been developed and how healthcare is, or might be, delivered in the near future. The panel will be chaired by Professor Andrew Zannettino.

Thursday 29 August NCHRF Public Lecture : Managing Multimorbidity: A Challenge to Current Health Care Systems
