NCHRF held our annual general meeting and dinner at the National Wine Centre, at which the 2024 Derek Frewin Early Career Researcher Award recipient, Dr Patrick Fordjour Asare, received his award.
Dr Asare is a post-doctoral researcher with the Inflammatory Lung Disease Research Group based in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Adelaide.
As a pharmacist and clinical research scientist, Dr Asare’s work is particularly focused on discovering innovative medicines with the ability to enhance current standards of care.
NCHRF Chair Nino Di Sisto described 2024 as a busy and significant year for the Foundation.
“I would like to thank our Board members and committees, our partners and our community for their support over the past year,” Mr Di Sisto said.
“We are pleased to see strengthening partnerships with local government, the University of Adelaide, The Van Diemen Foundation, Adelaide Primary Health Network, and The Hospital Research Foundation Group. These connections and networks are the bedrock of achieving change for the better and, together, we look forward to a future of better health outcomes for our community.”
